Then it hit me! This guy was one of the original 'Huxleys' from Walking With Dinosaurs! I never performed with him, but he's on the making of dvd they gave me and I know he performed on the Australian tour. But, I did a little detective work just to make sure.
Now, I know that this show has generated lots of buzz and has attracted loads of people from the tops in their fields. (that doesn't explain me yet , but I'll get to that story another day) :) I am extremely honored to be in such good company:
From Wikipedia:
Bruce Spence is an Australian character actor. He is perhaps most famous as the Gyro Captain in Mad Max 2 (also known as "The Road Warrior") and Jedediah the pilot in Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome. He also performed the voice of Chum in Finding Nemo, the Mouth of Sauron in The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King, the Trainman in The Matrix Revolutions and Tion Medon in Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith.
He is acting as the paleontologist (Huxley) alongside fellow actor Felix Nobis, in the Australian performance of BBC's Walking with Dinosaurs: The Live Experience. In his role, Spence narrates the activities of life-sized mechanical dinosaurs operated by teams of puppeteers and drivers.
Here's Bruce doing the intro for the WWD 'sizzle' reel, which is a clip taken from the Making Of dvd:
